The Research and Consultancy section is one of the three PANE section. The section as its name indicates is entrusted with the following major responsibilities.
- To conduct and encourage relevant research on key issues related to poverty and development challenges of the country;
- To enhance civil society’s capacity for engagement in policy dialogue and design through informed debate based on high quality and credible policy research;
- Promote debate on issues related to social and economic justice and on the implication of global trends at all levels;
- Produce synthesized versions of available studies such as Citizen Report Cards (CRCs) and economic needs assessment reports of vario0us stakeholders so as to work towards building consensus on the causes of poverty and priority intervention measures;
- Create and promote an enabling environment for civil society organizations to engage in policy dialogue ( i.e reviewing existing policies/strategies and elaborating the implications of new initiatives) at all levels.
